Stratford’s Energy and Environment Committee is looking for some help in its ongoing efforts to protect native plants and promote biodiversity in our parks system.
On Friday, May 24, members will host a Periwinkle Pull in the T.J. Dolan Natural Area from 9 a.m. to noon.
Left unchecked, this invasive species will spread throughout the natural area, and outcompete the native wildflowers and plants located there.
Those interested in the May 24 Perwinkle Pull can meet at the trailhead entrance to the T.J. Dolan Natural Area off West Gore Street, opposite the entrance to Spruce Lodge.
Some tools may be available, but bring garden forks, gloves, handspades or garden knifes, buckets or wheelbarrows, if you are able.
The event is from 9 a.m. to noon, but participants are not expected to stay for the entire time. Any amount of help would be appreciated.
