Stratford City Council has authorized the lowering of the flag at City Hall on December 6, 2024, the anniversary of the 1989 Montreal Massacre, to remind us of the 14 women murdered and 14 people injured at the Ecole Polytechnique in a misogynist massacre of female students, and to remind that violence against women remains an issue.

Weather permitting, the flag will be lowered at 8:30 a.m.

Following the flag lowering and vigil, the Stop Violence Against Women Coordinating Committee of Perth County will host an event in the City Hall Auditorium, with refreshments. All are welcome to attend.
